Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated October 1, 2026 · Version 2026-10-01
This policy describes how Matchd LLC handles “consumer health data” in Sober Fam, as that term is used in Washington’s My Health My Data Act and similar state laws. It supplements our Privacy Policy. We collect and use this data only with your consent, which you give when you sign up (and again if this policy changes).
Consumer health data we collect #
- What you’re quitting or cutting back on (the label and category you choose).
- Your start dates, streaks and milestones.
- Setbacks (dates) and any notes you add to them.
- Money-saved inputs (what you used to spend and how often).
- Room and Community participation — which rooms you join, what you post, and the stage you choose when joining Community.
- Inferences the app makes from the above, such as your current streak or next goal.
Why we collect it #
Only to run the app for you: to count your days and show your progress, milestones and money saved; to show friends what you choose to share; to run rooms and Community; and to keep the community safe (filters, reports, temporary restrictions). We don’t use it for advertising, sell it, or use it for any other purpose.
Where it comes from #
Only from you, through what you enter in the app. We don’t buy or receive health data about you from anyone else.
Your rights and how to use them #
- See and download it: Settings → Privacy & your data → Download my data.
- Delete it: delete individual items, setbacks, notes, posts or comments in the app, or delete everything with Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and there are no database backups.
- Withdraw consent: because this data is what the app runs on, withdrawing consent means deleting the data you no longer want us to have, or deleting your account.
- Questions or requests: email privacy@soberfam.org. We’ll respond within the time the applicable law requires.
